Located at the entrance to the Boston Harbor, Winthrop is a quaint New England community that stretches across 1.6 square miles. Residents benefit from either the expansive views of the outer harbor on one side or the breathtaking Boston city skyline on the other. Named after John Winthrop, a governor of Massachusetts, the community was settled in 1630.
Many lovely homes, shops, restaurants and inns are found in Winthrop with miles of beaches as well. One of the best parts about Winthrop is the ease of accessibility. One can be in Boston in just minutes by car or public transport or take a boat to the North or South Shores. Boston’s Logan Airport is also just a stone’s throw away.
